TMS Available Now
Rochester Holistic Psychiatry wanted to reopen as soon as possible. We don’t want anyone to go without the in-person help they need, but we need to do so as safely as possible and abide by industry and government regulations. Telepsychiatry is of immense benefit in many cases but transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy can only be offered in the clinic and requires physical proximity to at least one other human.
We’d like to offer you a two-part guide on the current status of onsite patient care, what safety precautions we are taking, and what our patients need to know about their visits.
Regulations for Clinics
The changes in practice mandated for psychiatric clinic varies by state. Some factors that influence those regulations are population demographics, the level of strain on the local health system, and the number of local infections. Treatments involving physical proximity may be altered, restricted, or banned altogether depending on the conditions in a state.
How Rochester Holistic Psychiatry Educates Ourselves
We promise to inform patients upfront of changes to our practices and capabilities. We want to make sure that our patients are ready and informed of what we can do to meet their needs.
We make your TMS experience a safe one by staying informed on rules and guidelines set forth by authorities in the medical industry and government entities. These include:
- Techniques on cleaning TMS machines from entities like the Clinical TMS Society.
- The COVID-19 resource center available from the American Psychiatric Association.
- The latest from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- News from the World Health Organization.
How Rochester Holistic Psychiatry Protects You
Please continue to follow general hygiene and social distancing guidelines, specifically:
- Physical distancing. Our TMS treatments are conducted in a private environment with minimal contact and proximity to your treatment provider.
- We require all patients to wear a face mask in the clinic and all staff members are also masked. Gloves are also used as needed.
- Pre-screening. If you are experiencing any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (or other illness), such as fever, coughing, and shortness of breath, do not come into the clinic. Call your physician right away.
